Welcome to Cellar Chemistry Productions' website. This is a temporary site in progress to showcase projects involving Scott Novak of Minneapolis.

The latest project is a rock group (no name as of Nov. 2006) with funk, rock, and pop elements. Please click on the MP3 files below to get an idea of our sound.

Cellar Chemistry Music is the registered ASCAP Publishing company for the music of Scott Novak and friends. Based in Minneapolis, Scott and his bandmates have been working on over a dozen songs, and now with the new addition of bass player Andy Prickette, the band is complete and ready to rock! Our goal is to play our first show by January 2007 but we need your help in finding a name for the band.

Name our band and win $50

It's simple - just listen to some of the clips and if you think of a band name that you think would fit us, email cellarchemistry@yahoo.com and if we pick your suggestion, we'll send you $50!

To hear our studio recording of "Midnight Train" you'll need to go to our MySpace page at:

http://www.MySpace.com/cellarchemistry

Feel free to add us as a MySpace friend! When we choose the band name we'll make a new MS page and request you as a MySpace friend so you can know when we play shows.

Questions or bookings: Call Scott 612-419-3950 or cellarchemistry@yahoo.com

The following MP3's are from various rehearsals, and have been condensed into 30-to-90 second clips. The recording was done in a small studio room with two mono mics. However, song #1 (Midnight Train) was recorded in the studio as a demo in late Summer 2006.

Anthony Prickette - drums
Peter O'Gorman - vocals
Scott Novak - guitar
Andy Prickette - bass

We've been playing together as a trio (Scott, Anthony, and Peter) about 9 months, so we're a little loose! Now with Andy playing monster bass we are complete. These recordings are mostly clips from rehearsals and most are the first time we played them!  The edits are random, the lyrics mostly improvised, and the tempos and tuning imperfect, but listen to the melody, the vibe, and the groove.

Thanks for checking this out! Hope you felt the groove!

(If you have a POP-UP BLOCKER, turn it on! Tripod.com is a free hosting site, but pop-ups to sponsor it will affect the beginning of each song...
